About MinnaKids.com

My name is Minna Broadhead. I am a wife, mother of four children and a pre-school teacher in Houston, Texas.
I studied Art at the Glassell School of Art in Houston, the University of Texas in Austin and University of Houston.
In March of 1999 I received my Child Development Associates Credential.

I am presently employed at St. Jerome's Early Childhood Center, where I teach a classroom of two year old children, and where I also teach Music to all classes.

As a Mom, an educator of young children, and a writer/illustrator, I want my love and respect for children to shine through, in everything that I do.
I remember the time I heard my daughter Lizzy reading aloud from her favorite Dr. Seuss book, "Horton Hears a Who," and she read the words "A person's a person no matter how small." Lizzy looked at me, smiled and told me those words need to be in my classroom where everyone can see them. Thanks to Lizzy, they are.

For twenty-one years, children have been a very big part of my life. Everyday, whether it be with my own children or with the children I work with at St. Jerome Early Childhood Center, I know how blessed I am by their presence. Painting and writing have both been passions of mine, also. With the encouragement of my husband, my children, friends and colleagues, I decided to combine these loves of mine.

I hope to inspire young children to read, play, paint and pretend. Most of all I hope my stories and pictures inspire children to be the gifts that they are.
